Goals

Strategies for analyzing molecular circuits controlling normal and pathological events of tissue renewal, differentiation and homeostasis.

Content

The educational contents concern the study of the molecular mechanisms regulating the tissular differentiation events in the human organism and the maintenance of their differentiated tissue identity.
These same mechanisms will also be approached from a pathophysiological angle in order to better understand how dysfunctions of ontogenesis programs may be involved in the development of certain diseases.

A presentation (PDF) of basic knowledge is produced to allow students to anchor themselves in this thematic training. During the tutorials, two major examples of tissue ontogenesis are particularly developed through scientific articles presented and analyzed by student working groups:
-1-The formation of steroidogenic tissues (adrenal gonadal, male gonadal, female gonadal differentiations) and the maintenance of their own identity at adulthood.
-2- The cell lineage of the prostate gland and its alteration in tumor pathologies.

A reflection is also carried out on the physio-pathological situations which affect these examples of ontogenesis and on the contribution of several innovative models and analysis techniques such as: cell lineage on animal transgenesis models, "omics" analyzes, development of organoids from tissue stem cells, etc.
