  • Different types of exchange agreements exist, each granting access to funding opportunities.
  • In most cases, students wishing to undertake study mobility abroad submit an application to their international relations contact at their department. This involves spending a semester or a year abroad on exchange and validating the degree at UCA through equivalence upon returning from the mobility.
  • In certain faculties at UCA, dual degree programs are also offered. These arrangements allow students to obtain both the degree from the University Clermont Auvergne and that of the partner foreign university.
For more information, please contact the International Relations Referent at your home department.

Where to go?

Consult the list of international exchange agreements
In Europe with the Erasmus Program

The Lifelong Learning Programme allows student mobility to the 27 European Union countries, as well as to Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, North Macedonia, and Serbia. A student can benefit from the Erasmus+ status and receive a study or internship scholarship.

Worldwide with Bilateral Exchange Programs

Bilateral exchanges offer mobility opportunities to destinations worldwide, primarily outside of Europe.

Clermont Auvergne University has developed partnerships on all five continents and maintains strong relationships with universities in the United States (Oklahoma), China (Shanghai), Germany (Regensburg), Eastern Europe (Wroclaw, Krakow)... these examples are not exhaustive!

In Quebec with the BCI (Bureau de Coop¨¦ration Interuniversitaire)

Thanks to the BCI program, French students can go on exchange to universities in the Quebec region of Canada, regardless of their field of study. Most of the universities in the BCI program are French-speaking.
We invite you to consult the summary table of student exchange programs from the BCI..

Attention! These procedures must be done early in the calendar year (January or February) as the deadlines for partner institutions are also early in the year. Also, students must adhere to the deadlines for submitting participation files and note that a student can only submit one participation request.

Step 1

Check with your international relations administrative contact to see if your department already has an exchange agreement with any of the institutions in the BCI program by consulting the list of international exchange agreements above. Some Quebec partners offer a limited number of places*; departments with existing agreements will not have priority in the allocation of places.

*Students will be selected primarily based on academic success (overall GPA from the previous year). The DRIF will then rank and select the best applications from across UCA.

Step 2

Find a host institution: https://echanges-etudiants.bci-qc.ca/etudiants-internationaux/.

Step 3

Prepare a list of courses to take at the host institution, validated by the international relations academic contact at your department. Please review the admission conditions of each institution.

Step 4

Collect all required documents to complete your application: consult the checklist.

Step 5

Schedule an appointment with the DRIF (International Relations and Francophonie Office of Clermont Auvergne University, contact Nathalie.VALLAS@uca.fr) once you have gathered all the documents, in order to submit your online application by the specified deadlines listed below.

Some institutions may require additional documents, such as their own application form. For more information, consult the admission requirements for each institution.

Important!
Appointments with students will take place in person or via Teams. No identification code will be provided directly to the student.
